As we all know it has become a sad reality that Imperial Egyptian Stud closes its doors. It is only natural that we would like to pay hommage to Barbara Griffith and her breeding program that influenced so many studfarms around the globe. Therefore we decided to declare April to our "Imperial Tribute Month".
The first step is this centerfold of the great old stallion Imperial Madaar (Imperial Madheen x Ansata Nile Mist) who will turn twenty this year. As a two-year-old, gangly colt he was exported to Simeon Stud in Australia and grew into a tall (15.3 hh), powerful and very expressive stallion who won all the major shows in Australia. Very reminiscent of his maternal grandsire U.S. National Champion Stallion Ansata Ibn Sudan, the fleabitten grey Imperial Madaar holds his head on the vertical and moves with floating strides. "Madaar brings size to his progeny, stretch, smoothness and athletic ability", says his proud owner, Marion Richmond. "His get have gone on to be successful in endurance, dressage and halter." Simeon Stud has four daughters of Imperial Madaar and four of the Simeon mares are in foal to him for 2007.

Wie wir alle wissen, ist es nun traurige Realität, dass das Imperial-Gestüt seine Tore für immer schließt. Weltweit hat es unzählige Zuchtprogramme beeinflusst. Darum haben wir den April zum "Imperial-Monat" ernannt und erweisen Barbara Griffith und ihrem Gestüt damit unsere Referenz.
Der erste Schritt ist das Centerfold des großen alten Herrn Imperial Madaar (Imperial Madheen x Ansata Nile Mist), der in diesem Jahr zwanzig Jahre alt wird. Als halbstarker Zweijähriger wurde er an das Simeon-Gestüt in Australien verkauft und wuchs zu einem großen, maskulinen Hengst heran, der alle großen Schauen des Landes gewann. Mit seiner enormen Aufrichtung, der vertikalen Kopfhaltung und den kraftvollen Bewegungen ist er seinem Großvater Ansata Ibn Sudan sehr ähnlich. "Madaar vererbt Größe, geschmeidigen Körperbau und Athletik ", sagt seine Besitzerin Marion Richmond. "Seine Nachkommen sind im Distanzsport erfolgreich, in der Dressur und auf Schauen." Auf dem Simeon-Gestüt behielt man vier seiner Töchter in der Zuchtherde und vier Simeon-Stuten sind für 2007 von Madaar tragend.
