Another foundation of the Rothenberg breeding program is the exotic champion stallion Classic Shadwan (Alidaar x Shagia Bint Shadwan). This ultra-refined fleabitten grey, who is regarded by many as the epitome of classic type has proved to be an outstanding sire of both fillies and colts. The icing of the cake: Even Classic Shadwan sired some black foals already! Two of his straight Egyptian sons were awarded a Gold premium at the annual Stallion Shows in Germany, one of them was Rothenberg Stud's own GR Amaretto (x Halims Asmara). Like his sire, GR Amaretto stands for classic type, beauty, refinement and absolutely flawless disposition. In 2006 he was named Senior Champion Stallion of the Egyptian Event Europe. He has offspring on five continents.

Our goal is to breed outstanding typey Egyptians of extreme quality, movement and character - just the perfect Arabian 'family horse' that can also compete successfully in the showring - and all this in the colour black," says Annette Escher. Exotic horses bred by Rothenberg Stud are at home around the world. "We have happy clients in all of Europe but also in Argentina, Australia, Egypt, New Zealand, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and the US.
