FACTS Ashhal Al Rayyan is one of those dynamic young stallions that immediately attracts the eye – some call it "star quality". Into the ring with a bound and of dominating presence, he stands out wherever he is shown. His show record boasts such titles as 1999 National Champion Colt and 1999 International Junior Champion Colt, best Qatari-bred Horse (with a total of 93,3 percent with six 20s for type, head and neck, and movement) and 2000 Qatar International Reserve Junior Champion Colt. In 2004 he was named International Champion Stallion of Qatar. Ashhal possesses the beauty of his late sire, Safir, and the great show attitude of his dam, Ansata Majesta. He is handsome, with a classic short head, and is typical of the Dahman Shahwan strain description – good length of shoulder, very compact, well-muscled, strong and deep in body, bold moving, and charismatic. In 2001 he stood on lease at Dr. Nagel's farm in Germany and sired some outstanding get. His son Insh Allah (x India) was crowned World Junior Champion Colt in Paris in 2003, his son Amaar Al Rayyan (x Al Wajba Al Rayyan) was International Reserve Champion Colt of Qatar in 2004 and his multi-champion daughter Sundos Al Nasser (x MS Elvira) gathered the following titles: Classwinner at the All Nations Cup and Top Ten Filly of the World Championship in Paris in 2002, International Junior Champion Filly of Qatar, Reserve Junior Champion Filly of Sharjah and Junior Champion Filly of Dubai (the last three titles were won in 2004). In 2005 his Al Rayyan bred and owned daughter Nadrah Al Rayyan (x Ansata Nefer Isis) was the filly to beat at the international shows in the Middle East: She was named Junior Champion Filly at the International Shows of Qatar, Sharjah and Dubai. PEDIGREE Ashhal's
sire, Safir, needs no introduction. His get gathered numerous championships
in the Middle East. Ashhal's dam, Ansata Majesta (Ansata Halim Shah
x Ansata Malika by Jamil), was the first American import by Sheikh
Abdulaziz to Qatar. Already an American champion, this charismatic,
bold-moving mare took the first Qatar Nationals by storm, winning
with ease the Junior National Champion title. Nobody who saw her bound
into the ring and win that day will ever forget her. Majesta tolerates
motherhood, but she prefers being an admired queen in the show ring.
And make no mistake about it – she knows she is one. PERSONALITY Classic, spirited, charismatic, and proud are just a few of the adjectives that describe Ashhal Al Rayyan. Why not experience his charm for yourself? Meet him in Qatar - his beauty is worth the longest trip...
