FACTS

Carl Raswan once said that the high deserts of New Mexico were an ideal climate for the breeding of Arabian horses due to their similarity to the deserts of the Middle East. Ansata Manasseh now makes his home in this American desert, where he shares the ranch with the native creatures of the region, including pronghorn antelope, coyotes, eagles, jackrabbits, roadrunners, and even rattlesnakes. But just to remind him of his Arabian heritage, his paddock also has a view of the Egyptian mares, Salukis, and a camel which also live at El Miladi. The offspring of Ansata Manasseh are found around the world, including Germany, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, but perhaps his best known daughter is the lovely Ansata Marha, owned by Al Rayyan, and a former Qatar and Middle East Champion. Another of his daughters, Halima Bint Shaqab, resides at Al Shaqab Stud, also in Qatar. Although Ansata Manasseh does not stand at public stud, El Miladi looks forward to his foals out of their daughters of Ansata Shah Zaman, Ansata Halim Shah, El Hadiyyah, and Zedann, and is particularly grateful to Judith and Donald Forbis of Ansata for the opportunity to acquire this lovely stallion.

PEDIGREE

Bred by the world famous Ansata Arabian Stud, Ansata Manasseh is yet another example of the happy combination of the breeding programs of Ansata and Katharinenhof. Sired by the incomparable Ansata Halim Shah, his dam, Ansata Aliha, is a daughter of Jamil. Ansata Manasseh traces in tail female to the Nazeer daughter, Ansata Bint Bukra, of the Sabah branch of the Dahmah Shahwaniah strain, and other important female lines in his lineage include Hanan and Halima. An interesting component of his pedigree is Ansata El Wazir, a Tuhotmos son out of *Ansata Bint Sameh, who was known for his exceptional action.

PERSONALITY

Ansata Manasseh has the disposition all Arabian horse owners dream of in their stallions. He is a wonderful riding horse, with smooth gaits and a cheerful attitude, and in addition to having collected show ribbons in Country English Pleasure, Western Pleasure and Native Costume, he is a perfect companion for rides across the desert. As a breeding stallion he is quiet, respectful and kind. He is regularly handled and groomed by a 13-year old boy, and loves children of all ages. But when the time comes to show off for admiring visitors, Ansata Manasseh is bold and exciting, playful and exuberant. His favorite treat is a carrot, his favorite mare is Ansata Starletta, and the only thing that ever ruins his happy attitude is when a tumbleweed gets caught in his tail!
